Christina Tetreault is the Deputy Commissioner for the Office of Financial Technology Innovation within the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation. In her role, she oversees engagement with key stakeholders, educates department staff on emerging innovations within the financial industry, and coordinates policy approaches to emerging products and services across the department. Previously, Christina managed the financial policy team for Consumer Reports, which connected her with entrepreneurs, lawmakers, innovation offices, advocates and stakeholders. This role and legal background allowed Christina to act as a spokesperson and liaison with major industry players and shape DFPI's work with emerging issues within the financial services ecosystem. In working with these key stakeholders, Christina has been instrumental in providing education and a platform for innovators to connect with the US’s fifth largest economy and their decision-makers.
