Julapa Jagtiani is Senior Economic Advisor and Economist at the Federal ReserveBank of Philadelphia, a Central Bank Research Fellow at the Bank for InternationalSettlements, and a Fellow member of the Wharton Financial Institutions Center. Shewaspreviously Senior Economist at the FRB Kansas City and the FRB Chicago, andAssociate Professor in Finance at Baruch College of the City University of New York. Atthe Philly Fed, Julapa has participated in several supervisory policy initiatives, includingthe Basel Retail Qualification, the CCAR Stress Testing, and more recently FintechSupervision program. Dr. Jagtiani’s recent research has focused on fintech partnershipand BaaS, AI/ML and alternative data, and cryptocurrency trading activities. She haspublished influential research articles in top academic journals. She also leads theefforts at the Philly Fed in organizing the Annual Fintech Conferences to bring togetherworld renowned experts to discuss fintech innovations, their impacts on consumersandthe future of finance, and potential policy solutions. Julapa received a PhD in Financeand an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business, where she held the RockefellerFoundation Fellowship.
