2025 AGENDA Sessions
Panel: Tackling the Complexities of Modern Payment Fraud
With the rapid growth of real-time payments (RTP), FedNow, and peer-to-peer (P2P) transactions, fraudsters are finding new ways to exploit these systems, especially given the irreversibility and immediacy of such payments. Financial institutions are under increasing pressure to protect customers while maintaining a frictionless experience. This session will dive into advanced topics in payment fraud, including sophisticated social engineering tactics, coercion-based authorized push payment (APP) fraud, and the rising threat of wholesale and cross-border payment fraud. We’ll also discuss how real-time and account-to-account (A2A) transactions create specific vulnerabilities, and how AI-driven fraud detection and industry collaboration can mitigate these risks. Join us to explore advanced strategies for enhancing fraud detection, securing both domestic and cross-border transactions, and implementing effective industry collaboration to address emerging threats.
